and interest among the students in literary and cultural
pursuits, there are a number of societies in the Institute.
Each society has an elected President and Secretary
who look after the affairs of the society under guidance
from a committee of faculty members. The elected members
comprise the students council who work in close collaboration
with the faculty on one hand and students at the other
and are responsible for organizing various academic
and cultural events in the college throughout the year.
The elected representatives get a chance to further
their organization and leadership skills. Their role
comes to a peak when they organize the annual cultural
festival of the college `Mélange' held during
the month of December every year.

society are an integral part of the college festival
when inter-college debates and other competitions are
held. The society is also responsible for bringing out
the annual college magazine `Surbhi' showcasing the
writing skills of the student community.
