Each
Application should be accompanied by self-attested photostat
copies of :
(i)
Provisional Certificate of having passed the examination and
the marks obtained therein.
(ii)
Certificate of birth.
(iii)
Certificate of Hindi examination passed.
(iv)
Documentary proof of special categories vide column 8 of admission
form.
(v)
In case of Grading System, key should be submitted along with
mark sheet.
(a)
If any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the
student will be debarred from attending any course in the
University or its college (s) for the next 5 years.
(b)
In addition, a criminal case under relevant section of IPC
(viz. 470, 471, 474 IPC) will be instituted against her.
2.
Admission to all courses will be made strictly on merit and
in the priority laid down by the University Admission Committee.
3.
All admissions will be made provisionally and will be
subject to confirmation by the University of Delhi.
4.
No candidate shall be qualified for admission to the 1st year
B.Sc. course unless she is seventeen years of age before the
1st day of October in the year in which she seeks admission.
Age requirement in respect of M.Sc. and Post-Graduate Diploma
course is that the candidate should be 20 years of age before
the Ist day of October in the year in which she seeks admission.
However,
a relaxation in the age limit upto a maximum period of one
year, on the basis of individual merit, may be made by the
Vice-Chancellor on recommendations of the Director.
5.
Ex-Studentship B.Sc. Home Science (Pass/Honours)
Any
candidate who has failed in the Ist year or IInd year or IIIrd
year examination, but has secured pass marks in the practical
papers may be allowed to reappear at the respective examination
in theory papers only on her being enrolled as an ex-student,
in accordance with the conditions prescribed on that behalf.
Such a candidate shall not be permitted to reappear in the
practical papers of the last examination in which she has
passed and the marks obtained therein will be taken into account
while determining her results of the latest examination.
The
candidates of the above category who have not secured pass
marks in practical papers may be allowed to rejoin the college,
and shall have to put in fresh attendance for one year, both
in theory and practical. They will also be required to reappear
in all the papers of the examination, theory as well as practicals.
The facility of appearing at the supplementary examination
will not be available to this category of students.
Note
: There are provisions for reappearing in one paper for
B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science candidates along with annual examination
at the end of next year.
Reservation
& Concessions
1.
Scheduled Caste/Tribe/O.B.C.
Each
Scheduled Caste/Tribe student will be allowed concession of
5% marks for the purpose of determining her eligibility and
position on the merit list except for P.G. Diploma in Dietetics
and Public Health Nutrition. A further relaxation will be
given to the extent required in order to fill up the reserved
seats. 22½ % (15% of S.C. and 7½% for S.T., interchangeable
if necessary) of the total number of seats in B.Sc. Home Science
(Hons. & Pass) and in DDPHN are reserved for eligible
candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Tribe. While applying
for admission, the candidates should attach a certificate
certifying that she belongs to Scheduled Caste/Tribe from
Competent authorities as listed below:
(i)
District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Deputy
Commissioner/Collector/Additional Deputy Commissioner/Deputy
Collector/Ist Class Stipendiary Magistrate/Executive Magistrate/Extra
Assistant Commissioner/City Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Taluka
Magistrate.
(ii)
Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Presidency Magistrate/Presidency
Magistrate.
(iii)
Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
(iv)
Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or
her family normally resides.
(v)
Administrator/Secretary to Administrator/Development Officer
(Laccadive Minicoy Islands).
A
certificate issued by the Principal of the school last attended
to the effect that the candidate was a bonafide Scheduled
Caste/Tribe student and has availed all the benefits available
to this category.
Note:
The SC/ST Candidates have to register themselves at Faculty
of Science, University of Delhi.
OBC
Candidates
O.B.C.
status is to be determined on the basis of the Central list
of OBCs as notified by the `Ministry of Social Justice and
Empowerment'. The total number of seats for various reserved
categories including OBC/SC/ST and physically handicapped
would be known only after the relevant sanctions are received
by the college from MHRD. Till such notification, the admissions
would be made as per the seats mentioned in the information
book 2007-2008.
2.
Children or Widows of Officers/Men of Armed Forces
Reservation
of 5% of the total number of seats shall be made for widows
and/or children of officers and men of the Armed Forces including
para-military forces killed or disabled or missing in action
in wars, 1947-48 onwards. Candidates, however, shall be required
to fulfill the minimum eligibility conditions. For this category
of candidates, relaxation to the extent of 5% in the minimum
marks in the aggregate will also be given while determining
the eligibility.
In
order to become eligible for the above concession, the widows
and children of officers and jawans, etc. will be required
to produce an entitlement card issued by the
(a)
Record Office of the Unit/Regiment of the Officer/Jawan of
Armed Forces.
(b)
Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board, Delhi.
(c)
Secretary, Rajya/Zila Sainik Board.
(d)
1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate.
3.
Physically Handicapped Candidates
The
physically handicapped candidates will be given weightage/concession,
as the case may require, upto 10% for placement in the merit
for admission to various courses, other than the courses where
admissions are made on the basis of competitive examinations
as per University rules.
In
case some seats reserved for special categories as referred
above are left vacant, these will be declared open and filled
in order of merit. The above concession is available to the
candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. (Home Science) Pass
& Honours 1st Year.
Note:
The Candidates have to register themselves at the DSW,
Delhi University.
4.
Sports
Weightage
will be given to candidates who have performed at the State,
National or International Levels, as per University rules.
5.
University Employees Quota
The
eligible wards of Teaching and Non-teaching staff of Colleges/University
of Delhi will be considered as per University rules.
6.
Foreign Students
Some
seats are reserved for Foreign Students. These students have
to pay an extra amount in Indian Rupees equivalent to US$
100, per year, to the college concerned along with the Annual
Fees on being given admission. This amount is in addition
to the Foreign Students Registration Fees being collected
by the University.
Important
1.
Candidates applying under reserved categories 1, 2 and 3 should
get their original certificates verified by the dean, student's
welfare, University of Delhi.
2.
Disputes, if any arising out of or relating to any matter
whatsoever, concerning the process of admission shall be subject
to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Delhi
only.
Admission
The
list of selected candidates will be put up at the Institute
as per the schedule laid down by the University of Delhi.
The candidate will be required to pay the first instalment
of the fees and Institute charges by the prescribed date,
failing which admission will stand cancelled. The selected
candidates should also bring the following documents along
with them for submission.
(a)
A certificate of health.
(b)
A certificate of Hindi Examination passed.
(c)
Three passport size photographs.
(d)
Original Examination certificate of Class X.
(e)
Original mark list of Class XII.
(f)
Provisional pass certificate from school for Class XII.
(g)
Original copy of certificate showing date of birth.
(h)
A migration certificate in original, wherever required.
Admission
will be strictly in order of merit, category wise as decided
by the Admission Committee.
Note:
1. In case an applicant is unable to produce requisite certificates
due to non-issue of the same upto the time she applies for
admission, admission given to her in the Institute will continue
to be provisional till such time as the certificates are produced
by her, not later than 1st August of the current year.
2.
Any student seeking admission on wrong information with respect
to age, subject and percentage of marks etc. will have her
admission cancelled at any time when it comes to the notice
of the University.
Readmission
Candidates
who have failed in the Ist Year examination of the Degree
course and are seeking re-admission shall be considered as
fresh applicants for the purpose of admission.
Scholarship
The
University holds a competitive Examination in Delhi in the
month of October each year for the award of All India Entrance
Scholarships (fifty) 50 in number, of the value of Rs. 250/-
(Rupees two hundred and fifty only) per month, tenable for
three years for pursuing a course of study for an honours
degree of this University.
The
competition will be open to the students who have passed the
Senior School Certificate Examination (under 10+2 pattern
of education) from the Central Board of Secondary Education,
New Delhi or an examination equivalent thereto, with 55% marks
in aggregate in the year the All India Entrance Scholarship
Examination is held.
The
last date for receipt of applications is 1st September each
year. Other details may be had from the respective colleges
or from the Examination Branch VII (i) Main University Campus,
Room No. 61, on any working day between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30
p.m. after 1st August each year. The examination forms will
be accepted from the eligible candidates alongwith an examination
fee of Rs. 60/-.
