Bachelor of Elementary Education (Four year course): No of seats - 54

This four year integrated course is the first Indian professional degree programme for elementary teachers' education. The course has been introduced in the Institute of Home Economics from the academic year 2004-05 & is offered by only a few select colleges of Delhi University.

The admission to this course is through a centralized admission test conducted by Central Institute of Education, Delhi University. The B.El.Ed. programme prepares a student-teacher for a wide range of professional & academic options such as teaching & research in elementary education in Government. & Public schools, pursuing post graduation and subsequently qualifying to be teacher educators in state Institutes/University/Departments/Colleges.


Eligibility / Qualifications Required for Bachelor of Elementary Education


(A) Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) Programme must have passed the Class XII examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other Board recognised as equivalent to the CBSE with at least 50% marks in each of the following four subjects:

(i) One from list A and three from list B

OR


(ii) One from list A, two from list B and one from list C.

Common Entrance Examination (Conducted by Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi)

In the Course nomenclature, the numeral immediately following letters (F.C.P. etc.) denotes the year of the programme in which the course is to be taught. The second numeral denotes the serial number in a particular course type. For instance, F2.5 signifies that Human Relations and communications is the 5th foundation course to be taught in the 2nd year of the programme of study.)
