Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics & Public Health

The one-year PG Diploma course trains Home Science graduates
(both Hons & Pass) in the fields of Therapeutic & Public
Health Nutrition. The programme is very comprehensive
dealing in subjects such as therapeutic nutrition, public
health nutrition and institutional food administration.
Job opportunities for the students include openings in
hospitals, nursing homes, beauty and slimming industry,
health, sports and fitness centers. Keeping in mind the
contemporary trends in health and needs of the industry,
the course contents have been revised from the academic
year 2007-08. Whereas 50% of the admissions are on the
basis of merit, the remaining 50% are on the basis of
entrance examination (The same exam as for M.Sc. Food
& Nutrition). At the culmination of the course, the students
find placement in hospitals, health clinics, food industry,
catering industry etc.
Eligibility Criteria for POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN DIETETICS
AND PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION
Candidates seeking admission to one year Post Graduate
Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition must
have passed the B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science/ B.Sc. (General)
Home Science (10+2+3 pattern of education) examination
of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized
as equivalent thereto and fulfill the eligibility conditions
listed below:
B.Sc. Home Science (Pass/Hons.) or B.Sc. (Hons.)
Food Technology
50% or above marks in the overall aggregate and 50% or
above marks each in any three of the following:
1. Food Science
2. Normal Nutrition
3. Community Nutrition
4. Clinical Nutrition
5. Biochemistry
Selection of the candidates for admission to the Course
will be made in order of merit on the basis of aggregate
marks obtained in B.Sc. Home Science Pass/ Hons. Examination.
Category I
60% and above marks in aggregate of B.Sc. Home Science
Pass or Honours from University of Delhi.
Category II
60% and above marks in aggregate of B.Sc. Home Science
Pass or Honours from other Universities recognized by
Delhi University as equivalent.
Category III
55-59.9% marks in aggregate of B.Sc. Home Science Pass
or Honours from University of Delhi.
Category IV:
55-59.9% marks in aggregate of B.Sc. Home Science
Pass or Honours from other Universities recognized by
Delhi University as equivalent.
Category V:
50-54.9% marks in aggregate of B.Sc. Home Science Pass
or Honours from University of Delhi.
Category VI:
50-54.9% marks in aggregate of B.Sc. Home Science Pass
or Honours from other Universities recognized by Delhi
University as equivalent.
