DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The Department provides new ideas, imaginations and vision
to the students in relation to the management of various resources
- human, material and environment. Management of these resources
is integrated with design functions. Students are provided
competence and skills in planning spaces (both interior and
exterior) with 'ergonomic considerations'. Expertise in 'Entrepreneurship
Management' is also provided that enables the students to
design their own project proposals. Students are also exposed
to 'Event Design and Management', so that they can use their
creative and managerial skills to become an 'Event Management
Expert'. The Department of Resource Management collaborates
with the Department of Design, IIT, Delhi, NID (Delhi Chapter),
NIFD, practicing architects and interior designers, hospitality
and event industry, Consumer's Forum, CORE Centre, voluntary
consumer organizations, National Research Development Corporation
(NRDC) and CWEI (Consortium of Women Entrepreneurship of India).
Students are placed for internship training in NGOs, Government,
and Corporate and Private organizations as management trainees
in marketing, finance and HR departments.
JOB PROSPECTS
The students can either seek jobs directly or pursue Master's
degree in Resource Management & Design Application, Human
Resources Management, Business Management, and Social Work
& seek jobs in Govt., Non Govt. and international organizations.
Students can also pursue diploma courses in interior designing;
entrepreneurship development & either seek employment or become
entrepreneurs. Those desirous of teaching can pursue B.Ed.
Event Management is another option available to the students.
