Vision
Statement
|
| Institute
of Home Economics focuses on the empowerment of
women through education. We pride ourselves in providing
the best academics and infrastructure in order to
train our students as multifaceted and efficient
individuals who make an effective contribution to
society at large. |
|
Objective and Brief History
|
| Organisation
of teaching to under-graduate and post-graduate
students for the following courses of University
of Delhi. The Institute became constituent college
of University of Delhi in 1969. It was started by
Home Economics Education Society at J-Block, NDSE-I,
New Delhi-110049 and it moved to its new campus
at Hauz Khas in 2001. It is a multifaculty, girls
only college having at present approximately 750
girl students on its rolls in various courses. |

Expectation
of the college from the public for enhancing its
effectiveness and efficiency

| The
Institute expects support from noble public, government
organizations, persons directly associated with
the affairs of the college and the University of
Delhi. University Grants Commission and Ministry
of Human Resource Development for achieving its
objectives/goals |

Arrangements
and methods made for seeking public participation
/ contribution
|
| Public
involvement in the affairs of the college is through
nomination of people from the field of education,
business, social work, retired defense and administrative
personnel on the Governing Body as per provisions
of statute 30(1)(c)(i) of Delhi University Act,
1922. |
|
Mechanism
available for monitoring the service delivery
and public grievance resolution
|
| All
student activities as well as teaching activities
of the Institute are managed by the Principal with
the help of various committees (List of committees
attached). Monitoring of the affairs of the Institute
are managed through its Governing Body, Academic
Council & Executive Council of the University of
Delhi. |
