Ph. D Programme Admissions are open for the Doctor of
Philosophy (Ph.D) programme in the Department of Home
Science (Faculty of Science) Delhi University in the following
fields of Specialization: Food and Nutrition; Fabric and
Apparel Science; Human Development; Resource Management
and Communication and Extension.
Eligibility requirements for Admission:
(a) M.Phil. Degree of Delhi University or any other university
established by law for the time being in force or any
other degree recognised as equivalent thereto, in the
subject in which the candidate wishes to pursue a course
of research or in a subject allied thereto with at least
50% marks or an equivalent grading OR
(b) A good academic record with first or high second class
Master's Degree of an Indian or a foreign university in
the subject concerned or allied subject
Note: Second class would mean at least 55% marks in
the subject.
(c) The teachers of the University of Delhi and its colleges,
the teachers of other universities or colleges and institutions
affiliated to these universities, as also teachers of
foreign universities, having a minimum of 55% marks in
the Master's Degree and having worked for a minimum of
three years in a permanent position may be registered
for Ph.D. directly on recommendation of the Departmental
Research Committee.
